Looks like the gaming ecosystem is developing and growing at a rapid pace. Winzo, the social gaming startup, is all set to create over one lakh jobs.
With the gaming industry growing in leaps and bounds, the number of games has also gone up. Therefore, the interactive entertainment platform is tapping even housewives, influencers and teachers on a project basis, reported by PTI. It also has translators working for it on various projects.
Apparently, over the last couple of years, the startup’s team has expanded, from about 25,000 micro influencers to about a lakh. And going by the trend, there will soon be two lakh in a year’s time.
Some of these influencers have managed to gather over 10 lakh subscribers, some of whom earn at least Rs 5 lakh every month.
Even the number of translators has risen from about 300 in 2020, to about 7,000 today. That is not all. The Company has added five more languages and is working to add more. That means, even the number of translators to be engaged by Winzo on various projects will increase by a minimum of 1.5 to 2 times.
These translators earn about Rs 30,000 a month on an average.
By about September 2023, the number of direct hires may go up to 300, as Winzo is foraying into blockchain technology-based Web3.0.
Having quit Google Play Store, Winzo now offers its own platform where other game developers host their games, earning a commission from them in the process.
