Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, president and CEO, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), was named Professional Society CEO of the Year, by CEO Update, for fostering workplace innovation, ensuring that HR professionals have a seat at the policy table, creating more equitable workplaces, and elevating the HR profession.
CEO Update, launched the Association Leadership Awards in 2014 to honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills throughout their career. This year, it recognised Taylor, Jr.’s achievements, including the Together Forward @Work initiative, that aims to ensure racial equity at the workplace. The programme provides HR professionals with resources to enable their organisations to effectively navigate the pandemic, and advance federal policies that take into account the best interest of workers and workplaces.
