Alana Bechiom, a California Taco Bell ex-employee, has filed a lawsuit, claiming the company compelled her to resign after she reported a group sexual activity that took place at the restaurant during a Christmas party last year.
The ex-employee filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on 15 November 2023, claiming harassment and threats from associates of her former co-workers who were fired for engaging in a sexual act at the party.
Taco Bell’s public relations office said in a statement that while it doesn’t own or manage this location, the franchisee that owns and operates the restaurant had shared that they take these claims very seriously.
On 18 December, 2022, Bechiom attended a Taco Bell Christmas party after being invited by her supervisor. At the event, she noticed the windows and surveillance cameras were covered, and alcohol was provided, leading to some employees being “over served.”
After briefly stepping outside, Bechiom returned to witness a co-worker engaging in a sexual act with his wife in front of everyone. She also claimed the co-worker’s wife was kissing two other women, including her manager and another co-worker.
Shocked and disgusted, Bechiom left the restaurant but returned later to retrieve her guacamole bowl.
To her dismay, she found her manager and the co-worker involved in the act too.
Bechiom reported the incident to Taco Bell’s human resources and the franchisor, Alvarado Restaurant Nation, resulting in the termination of the manager and other employees involved in the incident. After that Bechiom has also resigned from Taco-bell.
