Veeam Software is currently undergoing layoffs, impacting 300 employees in sales, marketing and administrative roles.

One senior campaign manager shared on the social media site that she, along with about 300 colleagues, lost her job due to organisational changes. A sales representative also posted on social media about leaving Veeam, expressing appreciation for the people there.

Media reports suggest that, although the layoffs are tough for those affected, the company believes that it is a positive move. The company is reorganising and removing redundant positions to better position itself for the future. Despite this, the US-based company, with over 5,000 employees, intends to expand its workforce this year.

Veeam Software is a company that focuses on keeping data safe and helping recover from ransomware attacks. In 2020, Insight Partners bought Veeam for $5 billion.

In 2022, Anand Eswaran, of Indian origin, became the new CEO and a member of Veeam’s Board of Directors.

Along with the ongoing job cuts, the company plans to hire more people for some jobs, move some roles to new teams, and phase out other positions. Additionally, Veeam plans to hire about 500 new engineers and developers in 2024.

Currently, the company’s focus is on helping and supporting the employees affected by these changes to find new job opportunities.
