Bikano, a snack brand in India, plans to expand its workforce by both hiring experienced professionals as well as fresh graduates. The company is planning to expand its workforce by 10-15 per cent in the coming two-three years.

Manish Aggarwal, director, Bikano, said, “In the New Year, as the inflationary trends as well as the broader slowdown headwinds ease further, we will expand our product portfolio with new and innovative offerings as well as SKUs. This means that we will only step up our hiring and recruitment drive further looking to increase our total workforce by as much as 10-15 per cent in the coming two or three years.”

Additionally, the company has relied on expanding its portfolio by introducing more SKUs as a strategy so far. Bikano has also prioritised production at several of its plants in Delhi/NCR and Hyderabad to facilitate significant hiring across the south Indian market.

In addition to experienced professionals, one of its plants in Hyderabad will also onboard many trainees in various functional areas such as sales and manufacturing. “Existing team is retained based on their performance. At the same time, we are hiring fresh and talented workforce,” added Aggarwal.

Moreover, the company has also planned some interactive activities for all the new hires, which includes an induction and training process, with a six-month orientation program. A portion of this training is carried out on a successful platform called Apni pathshala. After completing the training, a significant number of employees will be deployed on-site as part of the field sales force, with support from senior managerial staff based at corporate offices.

Despite most companies resorting to mass layoffs during these challenging times, Bikano has defied the odds and kept adding more staff to their workforce. The company has expanded its operations and increased its presence in Hyderabad and the Northeast region, resulting in a 10 per cent increase in its overall workforce in 2022.

“As a professional company with a proper corporate setup, we understand that HR policies and practices are responsible for a company’s growth. Bearing that in mind, we have a structured and standardized HR system in place. We give a chance to youngsters through campus visits. We also invest heavily in the training of our employees. We function as a family, keeping in mind the interests of both individual employees and the organization,” said Kush Aggarwal, HOD marketing, Bikano.
