Bridgestone India, a subsidiary of the global tire giant, appointed Hiroshi Yoshizane as its new managing director. He succeeds Stefano Sanchini, who moves to Europe as VP consumer replacement. This follows Bridgestone Corporation’s restructuring, reuniting India with Asia and China under a single business unit (BSAPIC).
Yoshizane, previously executive vice president at Bridgestone Tire Solution Japan, takes on this role at a crucial time for India’s booming automotive sector. “India is a strategic growth market for Bridgestone,” he says, “and I’m excited to work with our team to serve diverse customers and communities.”
Sanchini, who led Bridgestone India since 2023, oversaw milestones like the 100 millionth tire produced in Indore and the Pune plant’s carbon neutrality verification. He expresses confidence in the team’s ability to capitalize on future opportunities.
This leadership change reflects Bridgestone’s global reorganisation, bringing India under BSAPIC with China and other Asian markets to leverage synergies and cater to similar consumer preferences.
Bridgestone, a global leader in tires and rubber, employs 130,000 people and operates in over 150 countries. Its regional office in Singapore oversees Asia Pacific operations, supplying tires to over 20 markets. With a commitment to sustainable mobility, Bridgestone strives to improve how people move, live, work, and play.
Bridgestone India, established in 1996, has become a leading tire company in both original equipment and replacement markets. With two manufacturing facilities in India, it has produced over 100 million tires in its short history.
