Sumo India Studios, the video game-development company has announced the appointment of Dolly Thomas as its new talent acquisition manager.
Thomas was earlier managing talent acquisition at Company 3 — a comprehensive post-production facility for features, commercials and music videos — for almost three years.
Backed by over a decade of experience, Thomas began her tryst with HR with TriZetto (now Cognizant), where she served as assistant manager – recruitments, for over a year. From there, she moved to a similar position at Crest (Springer Nature) for a tenure of over four years. There, she managed hiring for four business verticals (premedia; research and analysis; marketing and BPO; and technology) with the support of eight recruiters.
In 2016, she was appointed talent acquisition manager at Anibrain. For the next three years, she headed end-to-end recruitments for VFX and animation, AR/VR, Mocomi & ASMD (media school), before joining Company 3 in 2019.
At Sumo, Thomas will spearhead recruitment for Sumo India’s Pune and Bangalore studios, as the company focuses its efforts on growth and acquiring exceptional talent from within the games industry and beyond.
“The gaming industry has always been fascinating” for Thomas, who is confident that her “passion for talent recruitment” will help her “contribute to taking Sumo India to the next level.”
Stewart Neal, studio director, Sumo India Studios, appreciates the “wealth of knowledge” that Thomas brings along with her “over 18 years of talent acquisition and team-management experience in industries covering IT, ITES, animation and VFX.”
Sumo India’s Pune and Bangalore studios are presently on a hunt for fresh talent. The Company is a subsidiary of Sumo Digital, a family of 12 development studios, located in Britain, Poland and India, with a workforce strength of over 750.
The studio is known for developing ground-breaking games and delivering innovative projects for publishers such as Microsoft, Sony, Apple and Sega.
