During festivals, every Indian plans to buy something or the other. Therefore, e-commerce companies utilise this opportunity to increase their sales. Festival seasons imply bumper discounts, increased sales and maximum revenue for e-commerce businesses.

This periodic customer purchasing behaviour has led to seasonal job opportunities at Amazon India. The e-commerce giant has created over 22000 jobs this festive season across its network in the country.

The employment opportunities have been created at fulfilment centres, delivery stations, sortation centres and customer-service sites in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and various other cities in the country.

Akhil Saxena, vice president, India customer fulfilment, Amazon India, said that “In our effort to provide a seamless shopping experience, we are excited to announce that we are enhancing our teams significantly, with two times the number of associates working in the Amazon fulfilment network and customer service sites”.  He further added that “The over 22,000 seasonal associates will help in augmenting our capabilities to serve our customers better and enable us to deliver consistently high levels of customer experience”.

The new associates will join thousands of others at 41 fulfilment centres, 15 restoration centres and 150 delivery stations across the country to pick, pack, ship and deliver to consumers. The aim is to efficiently handle the orders and deliver products on time.
