GlaxoSmithKline, NES International School, Infosys and RBL Bank Ltd part of the list.

Arogya World, a global health non-profit organisation, recognises 22 companies in India as 2017 Healthy Workplaces. This addition of 22 companies raises the total number of companies recognised as Healthy Workplaces to 101, with a workforce of about 2.3 million.

The companies recognised in the 2017 Healthy Workplaces this year are — GlaxoSmithKline, Sonepat; NES International School, Mumbai; Infosys Ltd.; Mindtree; GMR Group; Indegene; IQVIA; BHEL Haridwar; GAIL(India) Ltd.; Tata Projects Ltd., Secunderabad; Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited; Hero Motocorp Ltd.; Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd.; KPMG in India; Ramaiah Medical College Hospitals; Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.; RBL Bank Limited; Reliance Infrastructure – Mumbai Distribution Business; Bunt Sangha’s SM Shetty College of Science, Commerce and Management Studies, Powai; SBI Capital Markets Limited; Synopsys (India) Pvt. Ltd. and India Steel Summit.

Arogya World started the Healthy Workplace programme to build a workplace-based ecosystem to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among working Indians.

The companies are selected based on a formal assessment and firm visit by Arogya World officials. The selected firms get designated by Healthy Workplaces at the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.

Employee wellness and health are getting a lot of attention from employers today as employees are the real assets of a company and their productivity depends on their health. The award is a testimony of the health initiative taken by the firms for their employees.

Nalini Saligram, Ph.D., founder & CEO, Arogya World said “We are pleased to have reached a major milestone this year with 101 Healthy Workplaces.  By joining us, these winning companies have declared a genuine interest in workplace health, and we look forward to working with them and our other ecosystem partners to make a real difference in the health trajectory of future generations in India.”

This year, the Healthy Workplaces includes both public- and private-sector companies from multiple industries, such as manufacturing, energy, IT, transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, consulting, financial services, education and so on.

Arogya World also recognised its first Tobacco-free Worksites, which was bagged by NTPC Ltd and TVS Motors. Both the companies have strict measures to ensure that the worksites are tobacco free.

The non-profit organisation has mobile app myArogya, a new nutritional myThali, Life style-led behaviour change training and Tobacco-free Worksite Challenge to help employees remain healthier.
