Assistant loco pilot risks life to restart train

Recently, the Railway Ministry shared a video of a courageous and committed employee, Ganesh Ghosh, assistant loco pilot, who restarted the train which suddenly came to a halt on a bridge.

Without any hesitation, Ghosh crawled under the train in the tight spaces and fixed the problem. The train halted due to an air-leakage problem and Ghosh risked his life to restart the train and saved many lives by doing so.

The Railway Ministry, posted the video on social media and shared, “Railsevaks are committed to serve their passengers 24×7. An exemplary display of courage by Ganesh Ghosh, ALP who crawled under the coaches of a halted train on a bridge and rectified air leakage issue that helped resume the journey.”

The video is attracting a lot of attention on social meida, with netizens praising Ghosh’s act of bravery. As a result, Ghosh has become popular overnight.

A smililar incident happened in the month of May, when another assistant loco pilot had to crawl under the train which was stranded over a bridge. One of the passengers had pulled the emergency chain, which had to be manually released from under the train to fix the problem. A similar video was shared by the Railway Ministry where the driver was seen moving under the train and fixing the problem. The train was bound for Bihar and was stuck between Titwala and Khadawali about 80 km from Mumbai.
