Jet Airways, which is facing the worst financial crisis ever, will pay 25 per cent of the September salary to its senior managers, pilots and engineers on 25 October. However, the Airline has not said when the remaining salary will be disbursed.

The 16000 strong workforce of Jet Airways has been dealing with irregular and delayed salary disbursement for quite some time now.

In an official communication, Rahul Taneja, chief people officer, Jet Airways assured that the Company is doing everything possible to ensure that the remaining amount is paid to the employees as soon as possible, but no date has been committed.

The Company had come up with an arrangement of part payment of salaries and had drawn up a schedule for the same. However, it had been unable to keep up with that schedule either. Specific categories of employees were to receive their August salary in September, in two parts. But the second part was again delayed till the second week of October.

Following a meeting of Naresh Goyal, chairman, Jet Airways with the vice president of the National Aviators Guild (NAG)—which is representing more than a 1000 domestic pilots out of the 1800-strong Jet team — the Airline had said that it was looking at ways to resolve the cash crunch at the earliest.
