Sonia Grant-Yendell is now vice president, human resources, UK and International, Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
Having studied business and finance in Bournemouth University, Grant-Yendell has spent about 17 years in the HR domain. She started her career with Manpower UK as regional HR and training manager. After more than four years, she moved to Credit Suisse Trust as group head – HR. A four-year stint later she joined the GEnerali Worldwide Group as group head- HR. It was in 2012 that she joined intu Properties PLC, where she served the longest tenure of her career, as head-HR. In the over eight-year long career at intu, a company that owned, managed and developed shopping centres, she reported to the CPO. She managed the HR strategy at the Company’s head office and also created a transformational HR framework, which has improved quality and operational efficiency with high-touch, value add, partnering approach through a high performing multi disciplined HR team.
Now that Grant-Yendell has moved to Sony/ATV — the American music publishing company, which is part of the Sony Music Group owned by Sony Entertainment — she will lead the UK and international HR teams, reporting to the senior vice president – global human resources.
Based out of the London office, her responsibilities will include working in close proximity with Sony/ATV’s global and US offices to provide strategic leadership and support to the teams in the UK and worldwide. It will be her responsibility to launch programmes that will help improve the employee experience, align company values and create a diverse culture of high performance globally.
