    Hiring news: Openings in FCI, IT Department and Telangana govt

    Food Corporation of India (FCI) has announced various vacancies for assistant general manager (general administration, technical, accounts, law) and medical officer. The statutory body run by the Government of India issued a notification to this effect recently.

    The last date for submission of online application and payment of fees is 31 March, 2022. The candidates will be informed of the online test which will take place in May or June.

    For the post of assistant general manager (general administration), the candidates cannot be older than 30 years, while for assistant general manager (technical) and AGM (accounts), the age limit is 28 years. For AGM (law) it is 33 years and for medical officer it is 35 years.

    The selection will be done via online tests and interviews. The salary for AGM posts will be in the range of Rs 1,60,000 to Rs 1,80,000. For medical officer, the salary range will be Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,60,000.

    Meanwhile, the Income Tax Department is looking to fill vacancies for senior private secretaries. The application forms have been available since 12 February, 2022 and will be available for 60 days.

    There are 34 vacancies available for the post of senior private secretary, in Surat, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Mumbai, Nagpur, Indore, Panaji, Raipur, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Jabalpur, Chennai, Kolkata, Patna, Guwahati, Cuttack, Ranchi and Amritsar.

    Those who have served three years in the secretary grade on a regular basis with salary in the ranage of Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800 may apply.

    Candidates should have a speed of 120 words per minute in English shorthand and working knowledge of computers such as XL, Microsoft Office Page maker software etc.

    The maximum age limit for appointment via deputation has been set at 56 years.

    In Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced immediate recruitment to fill up 80,039 vacancies in the state government.

    About 95 per cent reservation in favour of local candidates will be implemented in government employment from the lowest cadre of office subordinate to the highest cadre of revenue divisional officer or RDO as per the amendment to a relevant presidential order.

    The Telangana government has brought in presidential order, which is a new zonal system that extends 95 per cent quota for locals in government jobs. It is the only state that has 95per cent reservation for the locals in government posts.

    The state government will be increasing the upper age limit by 10 years for all direct recruitment, other than recruitment for uniformed services such as the police. With this enhancement, the upper age limit will be 44 for other categories, 49 years for scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST) and backward classes (BCs) and 54 years for those with disabilities.

    Services of over 11,000 contract employees of the state government will also be regularised.
