L’Oréal India has recently improved upon its parental benefits policy as it looks to attract and retain talent. The new policy includes 26 weeks of maternity leave, 12 weeks of adoption leave and 2 weeks of paternity leave along with some other facilities.

In addition to the 26 weeks of paid leave for mothers, the new parental benefits include pre-commute assistance to expecting women employees starting from the sixth month of pregnancy, and childcare allowance for a period of two years from the date of delivery.

In addition, helping new mothers ease back into work, L’Oréal has allowed them to avail of reduced work hours for two continuous weeks immediately after resuming work.

The policy also entitles fathers to paid leave of two weeks. Additionally, the adoption leave has been increased to 12 weeks for mothers and one week for fathers.

To support the work–life balance of employees, L’Oréal India will also offer flexible working options to each parent, pre- and post-natal support, as well as employee well-being sessions along with dedicated HR and management support.

L’Oréal India employs over 1,600 people across four regional offices, including its two manufacturing facilities in Chakan (Pune) and Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), its research and innovation facilities, and at the headquarters in Mumbai.
