Samsung Group has officially launched its annual public recruitment drive for the year, marking the first comprehensive open recruitment initiative for 2024. The company’s 19 affiliates will be participating in the hiring process on 11 March.
According to reports from PressReader, Samsung Group is actively seeking new employees with a goal of recruiting approximately 80,000 individuals over a span of five years, starting from 2022. As the recruitment drive enters its second year, the company is focused on achieving its targeted workforce expansion.
The conglomerate’s press release revealed that its 19 subsidiaries, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDI, Samsung SDS, Samsung BioLogics, Samsung Bioepis, Samsung C&T, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Engineering, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, as well as Samsung Securities, are actively accepting applications. Additionally, other affiliated companies such as Samsung Asset Management, Hotel Shilla, Cheil Worldwide, S-1, Samsung Global Research, and Samsung Welstory Inc., are a part of the recruitment drive.
To enhance its research and development competitiveness, Samsung is actively recruiting both experienced domestic professionals and outstanding foreign students, alongside the hiring of new employees. Additionally, the company is concurrently fostering a flexible and horizontal organisational culture to allow external talent and individuals from diverse backgrounds to fully showcase their capabilities within the company.
Distinguishing itself as the sole major domestic group maintaining an open recruitment system for new hires, Samsung aims to provide opportunities and inspiration to future generations. Pioneering a public recruitment system in 1957, Samsung has consistently championed innovation in its personnel practices, aligning with the ‘talent first’ management philosophy to implement competency-focused personnel management.
Beyond recruitment, Samsung remains committed to nurturing young domestic talent through various initiatives. Operating the ‘Samsung Software Academy for Youth (SSAFY)’ in locations including Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, Gumi and Busan, the company provides free quality education to enhance the software competitiveness of young individuals.
Additionally, for middle school students in challenging educational environments, Samsung administers the ‘Samsung Dream Class,’ offering education in areas such as English and mathematics, career and future planning, global competency strengthening, and software education.
