Up to 11 days of work-from-home (WFH) and 10 days in office is the hybrid approach that Infosys has adopted.
It has allowed some of its junior and mid-level staff from certain business units to apply for WFH for up to 11 days in a month. The rest of the days they are expected to work from office.
If the employees wish to opt for additional WFH days, they will have to seek their manager’s approval, in which case an exception may or may not be made.
Infosys has been trying to implement the hybrid model for which it has been pushing employees to return to office. The software firm has been trying to draw its employees’ attention to the facilities available at the Hubballi campus, to enjoy which they would have to work from the office.
Earlier this month, Infosys was criticised for not generating enough employment at the said campus in Karnataka, especially since the 58-acre land was granted to the company for the very purpose of job creation. As per media reports, questions are being raised at the fact that only about 20 acres of land have been put to use by the company, and jobs have been given to only about 280 full-time employees and 122 contract workers.
The land was reportedly made available to Infosys at a discounted rate with the hope that it would contribute significantly towards local employment generation.
