After spending more than eight years at Monginis Foods, Swapa Rege has started a new chapter in her professional career by joining HappyLocate, as CHRO.

In her last role as the corporate head-human resource at Monginis Foods, Rege was focused on creating an atmosphere where employees were engaged and productive. “It was clear that building employee relationships and interacting with co-workers are essential to engagement.” In order to achieve that goal, Rege introduced various interventions, such as surveys, ‘voice of employees’ programmes, L&D initiatives, formation of management executive committee and more.

She had joined Monginis Foods in 2010, driving the HR initiatives to enhance communication, establish trust, increase comfort in soliciting feedback and unite employees towards a common goal.

Rege has vast experience in managing change, interventions, transformation, learning & development, as well as the recruitment function in different industries, including manufacturing, finance and retail.

The opportunity allows Rege to explore a new sector and setup altogether. HappyLocate is a digital platform, where end-to-end relocation is managed and coordinated with services, such as packing, moving, hotel and flight booking, all integrated onto a single platform through the artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning-based relocation tool.

Users can compare quotes for cost efficiency and secure interests to experience a hassle- free and memorable relocation experience.

Founded in 2016, the relocation platform lists 25 top verified packers and movers along with over 16,000 hotels, to make relocation a hassle-free experience. The startup aims to add up to 10,000 organisations and expand its employee strength to 1,000.

Rege believes that the only skill, which keeps an individual relevant at work is the ability to constantly evolve, learn and improve. Everything else can be replicated.

The new role will give her a chance to understand the business needs and create partnerships to fulfill the organisational goals.

“Our main focus will be to enhance the employee/ customer experience, while further developing the business,” Rege adds.

Rege has almost 32 years of experience in the industry. She has successfully set up HR operations from scratch and efficiently managed the HR function in line with the organisation objectives. Having been instrumental in growing businesses pan India for organisations, she is also experienced in people-process mapping and talent acquisition.

In 2006, Rege had joined Western Union Services as manager HR & administration, South Asia where she managed talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, as well as administration of India offices. She moved to Enkay Technologies India in 2009 where she stayed for less than a year.

Rege has completed an MBA in human resources management from Wellingkar Institute of Management. She is a certified neuro linguistic programme (NLP) practitioner and a trained life coach from Symbiosis Coaching.
