Tata Motors partners with Symbiosis International University for talent development

The programme will provide an opportunity to Tata Motors’ employees to upgrade their knowledge and business acumen while still being at work

Tata Motors has entered into a long-term partnership with Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune through an MoU, to develop talent at multiple levels in the organisation. The intention is to help provide avenues for collaborative research, content development and knowledge exchange between industry and academia.

The MoU has been signed for six years in the presence of Gajendra Chandel, chief human resource officer, Tata Motors; S.B.Mujumdar, the chancellor; Vidya Yeravdekar, the pro chancellor; M.S.Shejul, the registrar; and Seema Singh, director, SCCE of Symbiosis International (Deemed University)

In order to help employees strengthen their managerial capabilities to be future ready, an executive postgraduate diploma in business management (EPGDBM) for the employees of Tata Motors is the first step taken by both entities in this long-term partnership. Sponsored by Tata Motors, this programme will provide an opportunity to Tata Motors’ employees to upgrade their knowledge and business acumen while still being at work.

This partnership with Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is envisaged as mutually rewarding, that will help us not only push the boundaries of learning for our managers but also build case studies and related teaching capabilities.

Speaking on this association, Chandel, says, “It is important for us to prepare a world-class, competent, strategic yet flexible mindset and innovative managerial talent to lead this change. This partnership with Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is envisaged as mutually rewarding, that will help us not only push the boundaries of learning for our managers but also build case studies and related teaching capabilities.”

He is of the view that when industry and academia work in tandem to push the frontiers of knowledge coupled with real-time applications, they become a powerful engine for innovation and value creation leading to higher economic growth. “We are simultaneously gearing up to roll out more such collaborative tie-ups with the academia to develop industry-ready resources,” he adds.

This course will witness thought leaders from both academia and industry and their expertise will give participants exposure to sound management fundamentals.
