TCS to hire 1000 employees in New Jersey

TCS is trying to strengthen its local talent base in the US to ensure less dependency on working visas

The demand for digitisation has increased for the clients of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in New Jersey. Therefore, the Indian IT giant is all set to hire 1000 additional employees by 2023, to meet its clients’ demands.

Apart from just hiring additional workforce to support the ongoing growth in New Jersey, TCS also plans to extend its science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) courses and computer science courses to support the local IT talent of the state, as per a statement to the media. The STEM education programme offered by the Company has positively impacted 42,000 students in the US and more than 870 students in New Jersey alone.

Tata Consultancy Services’ Edison Business Centre, one of the 30 company facilities in the US, serves more than 100 customers in New Jersey. Currently, the IT major has an employee strength of 3,700 professionals in the state, who serve its customers in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and enterprise software.

In the last five years, TCS has hired 21,500 employees in the US, where the Company is working continuously to hire local talent to decrease its dependency on working visas. Last year, that is, 2021, the Indian multinational hired about more than 400 college students in the US, which is one of the biggest markets for TCS in terms of number of clients.
