Arnab Das, who joined Marico, the Indian consumer goods company, in 2011, as manager remuneration and HR operations, has grown to become its head-corporate HR today. Having spent eight years with Marico, Das has displayed remarkable progress to get to this senior position.
Over and above the mainstream functions of HR, such as total rewards, performance management, talent acquisition and campus, talent management and HR business partnering, he will also be a part of the Company’s strategic initiatives and projects for India as well as international geographies.
Before joining Marico, Das worked in the management consulting service sector. He was with Aon Hewitt for a little less than four years and then spent less than a year with Deloitte.
At Hewitt Associates, he was part of the talent and organisation consulting practice and consulted clients across a diverse group of industries in the Middle East and India.
Das is a Bachelor of Engineering from Bengal Engineering and Science University, and before making an entry into the corporate world he worked for three years with the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (Govt. of India), in the research and development division, as a scientific engineer.
He then took a break to study human resource management, for which he joined the prestigious XLRI, where he obtained a master’s degree in personnel management and industrial relations.
Das is known for his detail-oriented and analytical approach. With a strategic bent of mind, he understands the impact of HR processes on long-term business.
