Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital has appointed Ramanathan V as chief human resources officer. Ramanthan has moved from United Breweries, a Heineken Group Company, where he was head – talent management and commercial HR for over a year.

An alumnus of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Ramanathan is also an engineering graduate from Bharath Institute of Science and Technology, from where he studied electronics and communication.

At the start of his career, Ramanathan worked as a software engineer with Thinksoft Global Services in 2004, for less than a year. He then interned with Deutsche Bank, before being absorbed as a global graduate trainee in 2007.

A little over a year later, he became HR advisor – analyst, for the Mumbai area.

By 2009, he was elevated to the position of regional HR advisor – assistant vice president, based out of Hong Kong.

In this role, he headed the regional asset management and private wealth management for the Bank.

After spending over five successful years at Deutsche Bank, Ramanathan moved to GE in 2012.

He joined as HRLP – organisation and talent development, GE Healthcare, Bangalore. Within eight months, he was promoted to HRLP – plant HR manager, multi-modal manufacturing facility, Pune.

By 2016, he had become the senior HR business partner – aviation engineering and digital, based out of Bangalore.

From 2019 to 2022, he served as HR leader – commercial & services, GE Healthcare South Asia.

It was in April 2022 that he joined United Breweries.

A result-oriented HR professional with in-depth client-focused HR expertise, Ramanathan’s comprehensive experience in various HR roles in large multinationals and diversified conglomerates will prove to be an asset to Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital. HRKatha wishes him luck in his new assignment.
