After a successful seven-year long tenure at State Street, the financial services firm, Sowmya Aswath has moved to Moder as APAC HR head.

From 2013 to 2017, she was associated with AXA as senior manager HR business partner. For four years, she drove talent management, retention, employee relations and engagement. She also led various projects and initiatives, aligning them with the business’s strategic action plans encompassing HR strategy, organisational restructuring, policy implementation with a commitment to broader organisational values such as diversity and social responsibility.

Aswath’s next stop was State Street, where she joined a vice president-HR business partner in April 2017. She was based out of Bangalore for over five years. From 2019 to 2022, she served as vice president-country head,India. This elevation followed State Street Bank leveraging the GICs for broader work outside the US in 2018, which rapidly expanded the India centre.

In July 2022, she was promoted to the position of vice president-global talent acquisition enablement. Her role focused on process, practice and compliance. In her capacity, she ensured alignment to budget, adherence to standard operating procedures and continuous improvement of processes within the function. This covered vendor management and internal compliance of policies and procedures.

Backed by two decades of experience in talent management, employee relations and talent retention as HR business partner, HRKatha is sure that she will prove to be an asset to Moder, a company that seeks to positively impact the financial health of organisations.
