    The New Shop gets Monu K Bhardwaj as head – HR

    The New Shop, a physical retail store brand has announced the appointment of Monu K Bhardwaj as the head – HR. Bhardwaj will lead the HR function for the retail brand and drive growth in the Company with the people strategy.

    With more than a decade’s experience in the retail sector, leading HR, Bhardwaj’s skills will be valuable in this new role. Prior to this, Bhardwaj spent more than eight years at WHSmith, another retail brand in the country. In his last position, Bhardwaj served as the head – HR for WHSmith.

    Bhardwaj stepped into the retail sector when he joined Archies in 2010 and worked for the company for more than three years and held its last position in the company as an HR manager. At Archies, Bhardwaj was responsible for recruitment, manpower planning, performance management as well as policies and procedure.

    After completing his MBA in HR, Bhardwaj joined Grasim Industries as a management trainee and spent three years with the firm. He also spent three years with ACME Tele Power, a renewable and sustainability firm as a senior executive HR.

    Aastha Almast, co-founder, The New Store, believes that Bhardwaj will be a great addition to the firm’s leadership team and his experience in the retail sector will be crucial for the company in supporting its future growth plans.

    A skilled HR leader, Bhardwaj is known for his expertise in budgeting, business planning, HR policies, sourcing and screening.

    The New Store plans to have more than 1000 stores in India by 2025 and currently operates in six cities, such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Indore, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Agra.
