Socomec, a global Low Voltage (LV) power- management firm, has appointed Amanda Lim as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO) for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. In her new role, Lim will lead HR strategies across the region, with a focus on talent development, employee engagement, and fostering a culture of innovation and inclusivity.

Prior to joining Socomec, Lim was associated with Espressif Systems, an AIoT R&D organisation, as director-human resources. She was associated with the company from 2020 to 2024 and was based out of Singapore.

With an extensive professional background spanning over two decades, Amanda brings a wealth of HR expertise and leadership to drive Socomec’s strategic initiatives.

In her professional journey, she has also been a part of Schneider Electric for over 12 years. Lim joined the company in 2008 as its manager-HR operations for the Singapore region and steadily climbed up the ladder of success. Following a series of promotions, her last position at Schneider was that of HR director, in the year 2017. She held the role for over three years and then moved to Espressif systems.

Her career also includes notable roles such as manufacturing engineer in the semiconductor industry.

Lim holds a master’s degree in leadership and management from RMIT and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Expressing enthusiasm about the appointment, O’Niel Dissanayake, CEO, Socomec, APAC, emphasised that Lim’s “strategic vision and passion for employee development align perfectly with our commitment to excellence and growth in the APAC region.”

Lim also expressed her excitement on the new role, stating, “I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at Socomec to build a culture of empowerment and innovation.”
