The two-year old startup with a search technology that draws on artificial intelligence, has a search index containing profiles of over 400 million jobs.

Professional social networking platform, LinkedIn, continues on its acquisition spree. The company has now acquired Connectifier, a two-year old recruitment startup that helps recruiters find talent through technology. The startup has built a search technology that draws on artificial intelligence, and its search index contains over 400 million job profiles.

In the past, LinkedIn had acquired Fliptop, Lynda.com and Careerify, a Toronto-based big data powered recruitment startup founded by people of Indian origin.

Connectifier was established by Ben McCann and John Jersin, both former employees of Google.

Jersin said on the official blog that it was a complicated decision to make.

“Connectifier is growing rapidly and we could have kept growing independently for a long time. However, we are more excited to bring our technology and expertise to the world’s largest recruiting platform to benefit many more customers than we have reached on our own,” he explained.

Jersin further said that as a company it believed that human capital is the world’s most important asset and therefore, will continue to build powerful technology to solve real problems.

Post the acquisition, Connectifier’s R&D team will relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area to play a large role in the future of the LinkedIn Talent Solutions product line, while the rest of the team will work from the present locations.

The company assured that the existing customers will continue to have access to the product with no change in their services.

Last year, Connectifier raised $6 million in funding. Investors include Goldcrest Investments, K5 Ventures, Okapi Venture Capital, True Ventures, Andrew Chen and James Hong.
