Maggie Farrell is appointed the D&I and human resources manager of construction service firm, SM Wilson & Co., while Candice Eaton Gaul moves up as the D&I leader of global consulting and accounting firm, RSM International.

Maggie Farrell joined SM Wilson in 2018 and had been an integral part of the firm’s efforts to promote diversity, inclusion and equity. She is now committed to the goals of coaching, training, mentoring, networking and career development in the construction industry, while occupying a seat on the firm’s Employee Engagement Committee, College Development Committee and #SMWill.

She is backed by extensive experience in social services, having worked with non-profit HIV prevention and care, and with Epworth Children and Family Services.

Farrell holds a B.S and a master’s degree in social work from Saint Louis University. She also holds an American Red Cross CPR/FA/AED instructor’s certification. Her philanthropic experience and long involvement in community organisations makes her a perfect fit for the role.

Further, Farrell will work with the construction company’s subcontractors and accrediting agencies to achieve M/WBE diversity goals, implement community-engagement plans, and monitor workforce-inclusion hours.

Candice Eaton Gaul is a seasoned HR professional, who will lead RSM’s D&I strategies and help attract, develop and retain a diverse workforce. As a part of RSM’s people strategy, she will also assist the CEO at the global executive office and its branches around the globe.

She joined RSM, South Africa, in 2006 and until recently, she was the head of the firm’s HR and labour consulting practice. Gaul has more than 15 years of in-house and client-facing experience in HR with a specialisation in D&I, employer branding and organisational culture.

Gaul has a bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology and HR management from the Rand Afrikaans University. She also holds a PG diploma in Labour Law from the University of Johannesburg.

The Company’s international workforce constitutes 43,000 consulting and accounting professionals across 120 countries. Gaul will help them through developing tools, training materials and other resources.
