    Former Infosys employee’s viral post sparks debate on layoff practices

    A LinkedIn post by Kumar Shubham, a former Infosys employee, has gone viral, igniting discussions about the company’s layoff practices. Shubham alleges that he was laid off unexpectedly, without prior warning or career support.

    Describing the sudden and seemingly forced resignation, Shubham recalled how he was summoned into a meeting with HR and informed about his exit on the same day.

    Additionally, he highlighted that his internal access was revoked within hours and no standard notice period was provided to seek new employment.

    Since its publication on Wednesday, 15 May, Shubham’s post has garnered over 11,000 reactions and 700 comments, indicating widespread resonance with his experience. Many commenters appear to be from current or former Infosys employees or individuals who have faced similar situations in their own careers.

    In his post, Shubham addresses Infosys directly, seeking attention to what he perceives as unfair treatment. He calls for better communication and fairer handling of layoffs. As of now, Infosys has not responded to the allegations.

    This incident underscores concerns about layoff practices in the tech industry, particularly as companies navigate economic challenges. The responses to Shubham’s post highlights the importance of transparency and fairness in employee separations, especially in the era of social media where such issues can quickly attract public scrutiny.
