Serena Agha has been appointed the first HR director of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Agha has moved from Maxim Agri, where she was head – HR for Kenya, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, based out of Nairobi.
Before that, for a year, she was HR consultant for Highlands Mineral Water Company, at Nyeri, Kenya. She has also served as HR consultant to Bio Food Products in Nairobi, Kenya.
Trained in business process design for strategic management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Agha started her career as an analyst – business process definition and implementation for NETSOL Technologies Inc. in 2000. Just over a year later, she moved to Safegate International as HR project consultant for four years.
In 2009, she joined the University of Calgary in Qatar, where she served as project manager; communications, marketing and public affairs for over four years.
It was in November 2013 that she joined the European engineering consulting company called SWECO, as project consultant – Lysi Energy, Sweden.
From 2015 onwards, for about a year and a half, she served as lead HR for the business transformation programme at Hamad Medical Corporation, at Doha, Qatar. From there, she moved to Sidra Medicine, in a similar role for a year and nine months. From March 2018, to February 2019, she worked as an independent consultant.
Agha, who has completed an MSc in human resource management from Birkbeck, University of London, will join duty at PCB with effect from May 20.
