Amazon is looking to hire 1,800 new techies as well as corporate employees for its tech hubs in Vancouver and Toronto. These new hires will work with teams across the Company, including Amazon Advertising, retails and operations technology, and Alexa.

The Company website already offers openings for cloud computing solutions architects, programme managers, software development managers, sales and marketing executives, software development engineers, data engineers, and so on.

The new hires will be educated and trained and will have access to all that is required to grow their careers. Amazon will be bearing the cost of training them to help them move to better paying in-demand roles within the Company.

As a rule, employees on the rolls are paid competitive salaries and the medical benefits cover vision and dental issues too. Performance-based bonuses, stock awards and retirement saving plans are also available to all employees.

Software development engineers applying to Amazon will be able to leverage the Best Fit, which is a new technique of finding out whether the job suits a candidate’s interests and skills. Candidates can choose which teams to join, as per their wish and interest.

Software engineers who apply once are automatically considered for positions in this area across teams within the company. Based on the information given by the candidates, regarding their preferences in terms of location and kind of team, the candidates who pass the online assessment and interview are offered several options or roles, not just in the fields they prefer but others where their skills can be used successfully.
