Following the central government’s decision for federal employees, the Madhya Pradesh government has approved a 4 per cent raise in dearness allowance (DA) for government employees. The announcement comes from the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Chauhan.
In a video address, Chauhan declared that state employees would receive dearness allowances equal to those provided by the federal government. Additionally, he also expressed that the government has consistently prioritised the well-being of its employees. With the best interests of the staff in mind, he announced this significant decision.
Chauhan disclosed the decision last month in a Twitter post. As per the decision, the DA will now be increased to 42 per cent for government employees. The details regarding the implementation of the DA increase for the state have also been communicated to the employees on Friday, 14 July 2023.
As per the announcement, the increased DA will be a part of the July pay, and will be disbursed in August. Furthermore, the DA arrears accumulated from January to June 2023 will be divided into three equal instalments.
The forthcoming 4 per cent dearness allowance (DA) hike in Madhya Pradesh, is scheduled to be implemented with retrospective effect from January of this year. Besides, it is aimed at supporting and acknowledging the valuable contributions of the workforce.
