In a bid to stay ahead in the rapidly- evolving technological landscape, HCLTech has unveiled its ambitious plan to fully train 50,000 employees in Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) by the end of this year. The announcement came from C Vijayakumar, CEO, HCL, during an interview with PTI, emphasising the company’s proactive stance in embracing GenAI across its operations.

Vijayakumar stressed the critical importance of a skilled workforce to harness the potential of AI advancements effectively. This extensive training initiative aims to equip employees with the necessary skills to drive innovation and maintain HCLTech’s competitive edge on the global stage amidst a rapidly- transforming digital landscape.

Beyond training, HCLTech is actively involved in developing AI-driven platforms such as the recently-launched HCLTech AI Force. This platform is tailored to support the complete lifecycle of software development and product engineering. It also signifies a pivotal shift towards an AI-centric business model.

Vijayakumar highlighted the company’s strategic focus on sectors such as cybersecurity, data management and cloud migration, all fueled by GenAI. By investing in these areas, HCLTech aims to ensure its services remain at the forefront of technological innovation.

Recently, the company reported a notable 5.7 per cent increase in net profit for the fiscal year. Additionally, it highlighted a significant portion of its revenue, 64 per cent, originating from the US market. Vijayakumar remains optimistic about the company’s growth prospects. Furthermore, he cited a revenue growth guidance of 3-5 per cent for FY25, which he views as commendable given the prevailing economic conditions.

To  increase awareness among employees for wellbeing, HCLTech recently hosted an employee-wellness programme. The programme was hosted at its Noida campus from 10 Jan. to 12 Jan, 2024.

‘BE WELL’, the three-day programme hosted by the technology company helped employees to explore ways to rejuvenate themselves. These various means includes musical concerts, fitness challenges, therapeutic crafts, counselling sessions, guided meditation, aroma therapy, food stalls and more.
