Larsen & Toubro Technology Services (LTTS), the global engineering services company, has launched its new engineering, research and development (ER&D) centre in Krakow, Poland. The Company, which is headquartered in Bengaluru, plans to hire about 300 engineers for this R&D centre by 2025.

The new Centre, which is part of LTTS’ expansion plans for Europe, will serve global clients, and will be equipped with the latest technology in the areas of automotive, mobility and hi-tech. It is expected to play a significant role in helping the region’s economy grow, even while lending support to important projects in terms of innovative engineering techniques and cutting-edge technology.

Clients who will benefit from this R&D centre include a major American automotive company, as well as other clients in North America and Europe.

Similar engineering centres of LTTS already exist in Munich, Gothenburg and Jerusalem.

Through the Centre in Poland, LTTS hopes to leverage local engineering talent for its global projects. The Company plans to further grow and develop the local ecosystem in collaboration with the administration and local authorities.

The ER&D centre will make use of its in-house Global Engineering Academy (GEA) to reskill its employees and also help them upskill so that they remain updated in terms of domain expertise and knowledge, and are better equipped to serve customers.

To make this upskilling possible and also benefit the engineering talent in Poland, LTTS is looking to tie up with educational institutes, including the Krakow University of Technology and UK-based Coventry University.
