The online learning portal will provide courses covering class IX to postgraduate levels.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, under the Modi-led Government recently announced that it will be launching a portal for online learning. Called SWAYAM, the portal will offer courses imparted by the best teachers to anyone desirous of learning.
The Government is planning to roll out the initiative to let students benefit from the ‘anywhere anytime’ learning available through online courses. Through this, it would be possible for any student or any school drop-out to join virtual classes offered by the best teachers in the country, interact with the teachers, take tests, earn academic credits and transfer them to their academic records.
The courses offered on the portal will cover various syllabi, including class IX to postgraduate levels. These courses would be available throughout the country including Arunachal Pradesh. In order to cater to the areas without Internet access, the content provided under SWAYAM would also be telecast through the free-to-air Direct-To-Home TV channels that are going to be launched.
