Fostering a culture of continuous learning at Cummins India, the Company is sponsoring BTech and MTech professional degrees for its entry-level associates and shop floor employees.

The objective is to empower these employees with new-age power skills and industry knowledge, so as to create a well-defined career path for them.

To make this happen, Cummins has partnered with the Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division of a leading engineering college.

With the introduction of these sponsored programmes, employees at Cummins can pursue their professional degrees from one of the best engineering colleges in India, while taking a break in their career.

Anupama Kaul, HR leader, Cummins India, shared that as per the ‘Hire to Develop’ philosophy of Cummins, and also to become a true learning organisation, “we continuously invest in the development of our employees in various ways. One of many such interventions is our investment in sponsored education programmes for our employees that include flexible options to continue formal education”.

Kaul takes pride in the collaboration designed to provide a holistic learning experience to the employees, and shares, “Our employees immensely value and have tremendously benefitted from these learning programmes”.

This partnership began in 2017 with a pilot project, under which 40 employees of Cummins India graduated with BTech certificates.

As of now, 85 employees of Cummins India, from diversified backgrounds such as manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, and supply chain, have benefitted.
