Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, is celebrating the International Day of Families by hosting employees’ families through its ‘Proud Families’ initiative. Family members from different parts of India are visiting the company’s operations in Odisha and Chhattisgarh. They will have the opportunity to witness the production of high-quality aluminium at world-class complexes, explore the facilities provided for their loved ones, and enjoy various fun-filled activities.

These exclusive visits are organised for the parents of Vedanta Aluminium employees at locations such as the alumina refinery in Lanjigarh, Odisha, one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters in Jharsuguda, Odisha, and BALCO, an iconic aluminium producer in Korba, Chhattisgarh.

Since  the pandemic, this is the first time that family members have been able to visit the plant locations as part of the ‘Proud Families’ outreach initiative, making it a significant and memorable experience for everyone involved.

During the visits, parents of young employees who recently completed their probation period were invited to Vedanta’s aluminium manufacturing plant in Jharsuguda. They were given an immersive tour of core areas such as the smelting potline, casthouse, and power plant, and were introduced to community welfare projects. The parents also had the chance to explore employee amenities like high-quality housing, recreational areas, healthcare facilities, and more.

At Vedanta BALCO in Chhattisgarh, the company organised a week-long summer camp for employees’ children and community members. The camp included educational sessions on cookery, social etiquette, pottery-making, self-defence classes, and movie screenings. This initiative promotes holistic development and life skills among children.

At Vedanta’s alumina refinery in Lanjigarh, family members were invited for a plant-wide visit. They had the opportunity to explore critical operational areas, interact with the leadership team, and participate in fun activities arranged for the occasion.
