Kotak Mahindra Bank has announced the elevation of Chetan Savla from president – financial inclusion and ESG, to chief human resources officer and head- sustainability. This is his first formal role in human resources.
Savla has been with the Kotak Group for 28 years. In this long journey, he has successfully handled a range of responsibilities, covering investment banking and wholesale banking as well as taking charge of the functions of priority sector lending, ESG, CSR, and financial inclusion under the common umbrella of sustainability.
Having completed his postgraduate studies at IIM Ahmedabad in 1991 with a PGDM in management, Savla racked up 31 years of corporate experience.
Once he completed close to 15 years as executive director and head – corporate advisory group, Kotak Mahindra Capital, his climb up the corporate ladder became even faster.
He spent four years in his next role as senior executive director and head – corporate advisory, till 2015. Ever since he has been involved with Kotak Mahindra Bank in various roles.
Since 2019, Savla has been essaying the role of president – financial inclusion and ESG at the Bank, working towards bringing synergy to financial inclusion, priority-sector lending, ESG and CSR.

Earlier this year, the Bank appointed its chief technology officer and chief of customer experience, addressing the core pathways towards creating such a future-ready organisation.
