SMFG India Credit, the non-banking finance company, has elevated Gaurav Terdal to the post of chief human resource officer (CHRO). Terdal has been with the company for a little less than two years, having joined as head – HR operations, compensation and governance, in February 2022.
In the initial years of his professional journey, Terdal served as assistant manager at Manpower for a couple of years, before he joined Fullerton India Credit in 2007, as AVP – compensation, benefits and systems. There, he spent over five years implementing and maintaining HR systems, including HRMS, LMS and HRDMS along with compensation and benefits, based out of Mumbai.
In 2012, he moved to Volvo Auto India as SSF country manager (AGM), based out of Bengaluru.
The year 2015 saw Terdal back in Fullerton India Credit vice president. This role saw him playing West Region HR head and head of compensation and talent management, based out of Mumbai.
From 2017 to 2022, he was with Adani Capital as head of human resources. For about four and a half years, he successfully managed the entire gamut of HR for Adani Capital and Housing Finance. He was also a founding member who institutionalised the HR practices closely aligned to the industry and the Adani Group.
His next stop was SMFG where he was looking after HR operations, payroll, governance, systems, shared services and compensation & benefits till this recent promotion.
Terdal holds a postgraduate degree in human capital leadership, human resources development from XLRI, and is know for his professionalism and eye for detail.
