Mohammed Jassim Al Sultan will now head human resources for HSBC, in Qatar. He began his career in 2005 as a training specialist at Aljazeera Media Network and worked his way up to various roles in the human resources and learning and development departments over 13 years and 5 months. Before joining HSBC, he was a human resources manager at Almeera Consumer Goods Company QSC.
Al Sultan has more than 18 years of experience in human resources. He has spent most of this time in the media, retail and consumer goods sectors.
His areas of specialisation include human-resource policies, employee engagement, HR information systems, organisational development, labour and employment law, HR consulting, succession planning, labour relations, sourcing and employee training.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management with a focus on human resource management, from the University of Derby. Additionally, he has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Aberdeen.
Just about four months ago, HSBC appointed Patrick D’Amico as global market head of Qatar. D’amico moved from Credit Suisse. Christian Hiller, Thomas Schaad and Simon Aeschlimann also moved from Credit Suisse and joined HSBC Qatar as relationship managers.
