Duck Creek Technologies, a company that provides intelligent solutions to property and casualty (P&C) and general insurance industry, has roped in Sahana Shankar to head India HR.

An alumna of Anna University Chennai from where she completed an MBA in human resources and finance, Shankar is a commerce graduate from Bharathiar University.

Shankar co-founded 4th Dimension—a training and marketing startup focused on helping clients increase their sales through targeted promotions, events and branding—in May 2008. Then, after a short stint as management trainee with AATHMA, associated with Ma Foi Consultancy Solutions, she joined TUV Rheinland Group as training executive. Less than two years into this role, she switched to Cognizant Technology Solutions, in 2011.

For the next three years, as HR talent partner at Cognizant Technology Solutions, she successfully handled human resource talent management activities across different stages of the employee life cycle from entry to exit for 600 employees.

In 2014, she joined Mindtree as HR business partner. There, she supported 800 employees as HR business partner. Among other responsibilities, she planned the talent management and employee engagement activities. She partnered with managers to retain, develop and motivate people to achieve their fullest potential. She also worked with business groups and leaders to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for diverse employee-engagement initiatives for a year and a half.

From 2015 to 2017, she was associated with Brillio as global lead-learning and organisation development. She was responsible for designing and implementing the competency framework for Brillio, globally. Less than two years later, she switched to Paladion, as AVP and global head of HR. During her stint of over two years there, she enabled the organisation to become a brand of choice to work for and work with.

Her next stop was MiQ, a programmatic media partner for marketers and agencies, where she served as senior manager-talent management for a little less than two years.

From 2021 to 2022, she served as director-people success at Y Media Labs, before joining Saskatchewan Government Insurance or SGI in October 2022, based out of Toronto, Canada.
