In her new position, Lisa Collins will take on the role of group vice president, Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), where she will be responsible for spearheading diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across North America. Her key duties will involve developing and implementing internal DEI programs, tailoring specific initiatives for different business units to enhance recruitment, retention, progression, performance management, leadership development, and employee engagement.
Working closely with executives in the region, she will ensure that DEI principles are deeply integrated into all aspects of WBD’s operations. Additionally, Collins will play a vital role in fostering the growth of WBD’s business resource groups.
Collins is replacing Karen Horne, who was let go a month ago during the company’s restructuring operations. Similar to her predecessor, Collins will report directly to Asif Sadiq, the chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer.
The appointment of Collins comes at a time when DEI roles are being closely scrutinised, considering recent high-profile departures from companies like Netflix, Disney, and the Motion Picture Academy.
Collins is already highly regarded within the WBD team due to her extensive experience and deep understanding of the employee population. Having witnessed the positive impact of equity and inclusion initiatives on corporate, creative, and production processes, she is the ideal candidate to accelerate employee programs throughout the region. Her expertise will make her a valuable addition to the senior leadership team.
Collins has a significant history with Warner Bros, starting in 2015 when she spent nearly two and a half years in human resources. She later moved to Netflix, where she worked in similar roles for three years. In January 2021, Collins rejoined Warner Bros Discovery as the head of peoples and cultures production.
Before her tenure with Warner Bros, Collin held the position of HR coordinator at NBC Universal, where she then progressed to the role of HR manager, having spent a total of four years with the company.
