Shadowfax ropes in Mohan Sitharam as the new group chief human resources officer. Sitharam has moved from Subex, where he served as the chief people officer (CPO) for more than six years.
Backed by over 25 years of experience, Mehta comes with strong expertise in talent- management strategy and operations, strategic management and development of HR policies to support growth and retention, talent management, employee relations, inclusion and diversity and human resources transformation.
During his over two-decade long career, he has had the opportunity to manage and lead multiple facets of the human resource function for several organisations, such as Subex, Mindtree, HCL Technologies and Mphasis.
His longest stint was with Mindtree, where he started as head – corporate people function in August, 2004. He served in the role for more than five years and oversaw numerous human resources initiatives such as functional communications, people engagement and employer branding, along with mergers and acquisitions. With his great efforts, Mindtree became a part of the top-15 companies in the Best Employer Surveys by different assessment entities.
In October 2009, Sitharam was promoted to head of the people’s function for the North America region. He successfully essayed the role for four years and shouldered various cross-border HR responsibilities including strategy formulation, development of HR policies supporting organisational growth and retention, along with creating organisational programmes to accelerate the business goals worldwide.
Sitharam also aimed at increasing diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and grew the numbers by almost 80 per cent in his three-year long tenure. He was also a part of the core team that established the first Development Centre in Gainesville, Florida.
In May 2013, Sitharam was promoted as the head- service lines people function. He was responsible for providing thought leadership to oversee enterprise service lines with seven different horizontals and a force of 6000 working engineers.
After eleven successful years with Mindtree, he moved to Subex as chief people officer, for more than six years.
At Subex, Sitharam served as the global head for people initiatives. Along with managing human resources, he also looked after quality, IT, administration and travel.
During his HR journey, he has had ample opportunity to lend strategic and leadership support to various organisations in order to achieve significant growth, expansion and cultural transformation.
He holds a master’s degree in human resources from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.
