    MSN Laboratories gets L&T’s Padmanabhan S as head HR

    Padmanabhan S has taken charge as the vice president – HR and head-HR at MSN Laboratories, a research-based pharmaceutical organisation in India.

    Carrying more than three decades of experience in HR, Padmanabhan’s career has seen him working across multiple sectors, such as engineering, services, hardware and pharma.

    He started off with SRP Tools, a manufacturer of engineering and construction equipment, way back in 1992. There, he spent about three years as an assistant personnel officer.

    In the initial phase of his career, Padmanabhan worked with firms such as Kone Elevators, NCR Corporation and Titan Industries honing his skills in managing IR, HR as well as compensation and benefits. Kone elevators is a services and elevator engineering firm, while NCR corporation is a provider of software-based services for the retail, hospitality and payments sector. Padmanabhan helped NCR set up its R&D centre in India.

    Later, Padmanbhan moved to Dr Reddy’s at the Company’s API-manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, as an HR manager. He went on to work for the firm for more than eleven years. Having risen up the ranks at Dr Reddy’s, he served his last position as the senior HR director, managing HR for seven API manufacturing facilities.

    Before joining L&T in 2017, Padamanabhan served a short stint at Cadila as the VP-HR for technical and operations functions.

    As the head – HR for power transmission and distribution (domestic) at L&T, he played a significant role in building leadership capabilities and employee-engagement initiatives. He spent a successful five-year long tenure at L&T, serving his last position as joint general manager – HR for heavy civil infrastructure.
