In what may come as a good news to the engineering talent in India, Dell EMC is looking to hire around 5,000 people over the next year. Most of the engineers will be hired for its centre of excellence in Bengaluru, which an existing strength of around 8,000 engineers.
Dell, that had announced a $58-billion acquisition of the storage company EMC last year, enables organisations to modernise, automate and transform their data centre using converged infrastructure, servers, storage and data protection technologies.
The company hopes to have a workforce strength of close to 18,000–20,000 people in the next year and a half. After the merger, Dell EMC has been going through the process of integrating people.
In India, the company has been working with top partners, such as Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro and HCL Technologies and would continue to do so and develop local/ unique solutions for a geography that it operates in.
The centre of excellence in India plays an important role because 90 per cent of the engineering works globally, are carried out in India.
