    IIM Trichy student gets a stipend of Rs 2.5 lakh

    The average stipend of female candidates is 28 per cent higher than their male counterparts.

    A total of 95 companies participated in the summer placement process offering 157 roles to 157 students across various domains of sales & marketing, finance, general management, strategy, consulting, operations, and HR.

    The highest stipend offered to a student was Rs 2.5 lakh. However, the highlight isn’t the highest stipend offered but the increase of average stipend for the batch, which jumped to Rs 62,019 – an increase of 17 per cent over the previous year.

    The average stipend of the top 10 percentile was Rs 1,67,750 and for the top 25 percentile, it was Rs 1,27,795. The average stipend of the top 50 percentile was Rs 93,192.
    Interestingly, the average stipend of female candidates is 28 per cent higher than their male counterparts.

    While the regular companies such as Dabur, L&T, Mahindra & Mahindra, Microsoft, Saint Gobain, Yes Bank participated in this year’s placement, the institute also attracted new employers such as Avalon Consulting, Avendus, DHL, Godrej, RBL Bank, Shopclues.

    Abhishek Totawar, placement chairperson, says, “Despite unstable macroeconomic conditions, IIM Trichy boasts successful completion of the summer placement process with a 17% increase in the average stipend which reflects the confidence industry has in us”.
