Rajesh Padmanabhan, former director and group CHRO, Welspun Group, and senior business transformation leader, has begun his own venture, called Talavvy, today, that is, July 21.
Speaking to HRKatha about his new project, Padmanabhan says, “The current change we are going through is as disruptive as industrialisation, globalisation or the technology wave in the past few years. People transformation is a big agenda by itself and we have brought on board distinct specialists to look at business and digital together as the common denominator of change.”
Talavvy is a business-transformation lab that uses research, testing and experimentation along with industry expertise to bring about desired change for organisations. The aim is to create a foundation for business strategies using the data and insights gathered from research.
He adds that the difference that Talavvy brings is in the form of a research and lab approach to providing solutions. This approach will help determine the best solutions for a client. The name itself is reflective of what the organisation intends to bring to the table — ‘Talavvy’ is short for ‘transformation aggregation lab to make businesses savvy’.
With Padmanabhan at the forefront and helm, the firm has announced the appointment of its management team for the first time. As CEO, Padmanabhan is going to lead the business in the areas of digital acceleration, people and culture change, marketing and corporate communication, as well as interim management.
Four other industry stalwarts have joined Padmanabhan as founding members of the firm. Reji Thomas Cherian, former Capgemini executive and technology specialist, has joined the team as chief technology officer (CTO); Ashish Mantri, chartered accountant and managing partner of CA firm Choudhury & Jain, has joined as chief financial officer (CFO); Mangesh Borse, senior marketing and advertising professional, is the chief marketing officer (CMO); while Pardeep Pahal, is contributing as partner and talent specialist.
The firm currently plans to begin with consulting and advisory services and gradually get into products and industry solutions in the second phase. Later, Talavvy will foray into other services in a phased manner of progression and growth. The seasoned start-up team will focus on B2B and help devise customised solutions for clients, ranging from SMEs to large organisations.
