Employees of the state government as well as private-sector offices in Uttar Pradesh will be eligible for seven days’ leave with pay in case they test positive for COVID-19. Also, the state government had recently announced that all private and government offices in the State will operate with 50 per cent attendance at a given point of time.

In order to check the spread of the virus, the state government has requested organisations to encourage their employees to work from home or at least bring into effect a system where people take turns to come to office in rotation.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that offices be strict about refusing entry without screening to anyone, be it visitors or employees. He has asked only essential services departments in both the government and the private sectors to relax the attendance and work from home rule, if unavoidable. For the remaining departments and offices he advises the work-from-home model and 50 per cent attendance at office, if at all required.

He has asked hospitals to promote teleconsultation and call patients to the hospital only if necessary in special situations.

The state is readying for the assembly polls scheduled to start in the second week of February in phases.

There are at least 33,000 people in Uttar Pradesh who are in home isolation. As on January 12, over 24,000 new cases were reported in the State.

As per the revised guidelines from the Union Health Ministry, it is mandatory for those showing or experiencing minor or no symptoms to complete the seven-day home isolation.
