Soft Polynomials has roped in Deepak Deshpande as chief human resource officer (CHRO) and chief growth officer.

Back in 1987, for over three years, Deshpande taught and trained post graduate students of Electronics (MSc) as faculty and research associate at Gulbarga University, before switching to the corporate world. His first assignment—again involving teaching— was with Larsen & Toubro as faculty, training and placement officer-employee welfare, in 1990. Four years into this role, he moved to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), as senior officer, customer service.

His next stop was Datamatics, where he joined as manager-human resources (corporate), in March 1997. A little less than three years into this role, he moved again. This time, he took on the role of senior manager-human resources, at Blue Star Infotech, in December 1999. There he looked into policy making, recruitment, training, appraisal systems, employee welfare and HR administration for 500 employees located in units across Mumbai, Bangalore, the US and Europe.

February of 2001 saw him joining Trigyn Technologies as group manager-human resources, where he stayed put for the next two years and 11 months.

In December 2003, he moved on to SYSTIME, as global head-human resources. There, for about a year and a half, he was responsible for the entire gamut of HR function, including recruitment, training, PMS, OD and compensation.

From 2005 to 2007, he was with Lionbridge Technologies as head-human resources. One of the longest stitnts of his career was with Netmagic Solutions, where he served as chief human resources officer. His tenure at the NTT Communications company lasted over 14 years.

It was in November 2007 that he joined NIT Global Data Centres and Cloud Ifnrastructure as senior director. Based out of Mumbai, his association lasted for over 16 years. He then became managing partner at EdgeHR Advisory & Business Consulting, in January 2024.

HRKatha wishes Deepak Deshpande all the luck as he chooses to do what he loves best—lead and direct people and culture—at Soft Polynomials.
