    Coal India assigns additional charge of director (HR) to Mukesh Choudhary

    The appointment will remain in effect for an initial period of three months or until a regular director is appointed

    Coal India has assigned Mukesh Choudhary, the company’s director (marketing), the additional charge of director (human resource) on its Board, effective 28 July, 2026.

    The appointment has been approved by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, and will remain in effect for an initial period of three months or until a regular director is appointed, whichever is earlier. Choudhary will continue to serve as director (marketing) while taking on the additional responsibility of leading the company’s human resources function.

    A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Engineering College Kota, Choudhary also holds a Master of Financial Analysis degree and an MBA. He brings extensive leadership experience from India’s coal sector, having served on the boards of several public sector enterprises, including Mahanadi Coalfields, Singareni Collieries Company, Northern Coalfields, Western Coalfields, Central Mine Planning & Design Institute, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), and South Eastern Coalfields.

    Currently, besides his role on the Coal India Board, Choudhary serves as a director on the boards of Mahanadi Coalfields, Bharat Coking Coal, and CIL Navikarniya Urja.
