Deliveroo’s India Development Centre or IDC in Hyderabad will soon have students recruited from across Indian institutions and universities interning. The IDC will be actively hiring from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal and Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Hyderabad.
The selected students will undergo a six-month internship programme during which they will be closely interacting and learning from the main engineering teams.
This is the global food-delivery firm’s attempt to leverage the talent available in the country and at the same time give students an opportunity to work in an innovative environment. The firm is in the process of putting together a world-class team that will be able to drive its vision of functioning as a technology-driven food company.
Deliveroo’s Hyderabad IDC completed a year of operations earlier this year, and now the IDC wishes to further expand its team.
By the end of 2023, Deliveroo India’s workforce strength is expected to touch 200. The company also hopes to hire more women to ensure diversity and inclusion.
This IDC will serve as the Deliveroo’s largest technology hub outside of the UK where the company’s headquarters are. The Hyderabad workforce comprising specialists in analytics, automation, back-end engineering, machine learning and platforms, will provide major support to the UK engineering operations.
Established in 2013, Deliveroo partners with about 1.76 lakh restaurants and grocery stores across Belgium, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Qatar, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and the UK.
