In the month of April itself, NielsenIQ, the consumer research company —with headquarters in Chicago — opened its tech hubs in Chennai and Pune. Now, the firm has three capability centres in the country and six globally. Together, the three hubs will employ about 5,500 people, that means, at least 15 per cent of Nielsen IQ’s global workforce by the end of next year, that is, 2023.

The Chennai facility, which was recently inaugurated has the capacity to accommodate 2,000. It is the Company’s largest centre in the world.

The Pune hub offers a wide range of facilities designed to facilitate collaboration, innovation, and the development of NielsenIQ’s essential products and solutions. It will also include global customer service delivery, data science, finance and technology. By the end of next year, the Pune hub will be able to offer a capacity of 1,700 people.

The Company will look for freshers as well as senior talent in the areas of data science, engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

NielsenIQ was acquired by partners of Advent International in 2020, and has since been enhancing its digital capabilities. The firm employs data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and engineering to offer analytics services to study the retail space and shopping patterns and behaviour of consumers.

Recently, NielsenIQ entered into a partnership with pet retailer Hollywood Feed. This collaboration will allow NielsenIQ to strengthen the pet channel in the US, with enhanced consumer analytics and insights, even while providing Hollywood Feed with retail data to support growth.
